Because all you need is love, animals and wifi.
Put your trash in the red can below the stairs and it will magically disappear. Trash days are Tuesdays and Fridays, but we pick up on Monday and Thursday nights.
Yes we recycle all the way out here! Put all your recycling in the blue bin. Items we recycle: Plastics, paper, glass, cardboard, aluminum cans
We don't want: pizza boxes or aluminum foil
Friday is recycling day so we will pick it up with the trash on Thursday nights.
There is a space heater in the closet. plug it into any kitchen outlet. If you need an extension cord, just holler! The space heater will more than take care of your chilly nights.
Breakfast and Lunch- Granary, First Watch, The Recipe Box, Silver Star
Dinner- Just wander around either downtown Lakewood Ranch or the UTC area (University and I-75) and you'll find so many options. You could eat out every night and not try them all.
Pizza- Our pizza is never good enough for you northerners, but Rico's pizza at Lorraine and 70 always has good take-out.
Want an out-east, southern experience? Stottlemeyers on Fruitville has BBQ at picnic tables, a full bar, dancing and live music under a tiki roof every Friday and Saturday nights and brunch at 10:30 on Sundays. Not the best BBQ you've ever had but a LOT of fun. (Go to 70 and take a left. Take an immediate right onto Verna Rd. After a couple of miles, take a right onto Fruitville. It will be several miles on the left across from Tractor Supply. It's hiding behind the gas station.)
If it's the beach vibe you're after, head to Caddy's on the River. It's a couple of tiki huts on the water with a full menu, bar, and often live music. While you wait for your food, you can play beach volleyball or cornhole in the sand. This one is in Bradenton off of SR64.
Another beach option is Whiskey Joe's in Ellenton. this place is new on the scene. The atmosphere right on the water with fire pits can't be beat
Finally, for a hole on the water kind of place, head to Woody's River Roo. Get there early or the place will be packed! This one is in Ellenton as well just a short drive away. It's all outside dining so dress appropriately and bring your sunglasses.
For down home Myakka Cookin', go to SR70 and take a left. drive until you reach the busy metropolis of Myakka City. On the left you will find Silver Star which serves breakfast and lunch, and Myakka City Grill just beyond that serving lunch and dinner. You can do takeout or eat there. Their daily specials can often be found on their fb page.
Oh that? No worries- it's just the lions. (Ya never know what pets your neighbors are going to get out here.)
