5 Star Rating! Phil P., Feb. 2021: We loved the miniature animals, esp. the miniature calf. Peaceful, restful and great country area with lots of animals. very likely we will come back.
5 Star Rating! Melinda G., Feb. 2021: One Hundred Oaks farm is an outstanding vacation site. The peace and quiet, the night darkness, the animals and nature were all so awe inspiring. Maureen and her family were perfect hosts- communicative, helpful, friendly and respectful. I got to pet/play with the animals- mostly all mini sized and very friendly. The accommodations were very private and well kept, clean and had everything one might need- except actual food. Great AC and on the private deck- the most beautiful view of a small pond with lily pads and horses grazing at the water's edge. The apartment is above the barn- no smells- and only rarely the sound of a donkey or mini horse- something very different. A nice change from the sounds of cars driving by. In the early am the birds and roosters were a pleasant change of pace from the sounds of city life. This is a real working farm with animals, so bring proper shoes. You can't get fresher eggs- some are only minutes old. The oak trees are spectacular- there really are over 100 and walking the property is amazing- many places to sit, think and relax. This is truly a completely different vacation experience- but when you want to rejoin the regular world- it is only a 20 min drive - to trendy, upscale and fast food restaurants, shopping, grocery stores and the like. Be aware that you have to bring your own food to eat- no uber or delivery available to the farm. But you do have great cellular service, wifi internet(2G/5G)and Dish TV. If you want to get away from it all- this is the place to go- and you don't have to break the bank to do the same. I would highly recommend this location.
5 Star Rating! Kristen W., Jan. 2021: Perfect studio apartment for anyone who loves being around animals and nature. Waking up to mini horses, birds in the pond, and friendly chickens was magical. Only a 10 minute drive to beautiful parks and trails. Easy/pretty drive to beaches. Hosts are lovely!
5 Star Rating! Jonothan C., Oct. 2020: Faultless. Beautiful surroundings, immaculate accommodation. If you are looking for a quiet escape, I can think of nowhere better.
5 Star Rating! Cari P., Oct. 2020: We stayed here for three nights with our dog and loved the peacefulness and tranquility. The second floor unit was spacious and comfortable. We loved the porch and watching the lily pads dance on the water in the mornings. The visiting ponies and donkeys were so cool too! Very friendly and accommodating hosts. We’ll be back!
5 Star Rating! Paula H., April, 2019. I can’t wait to book my next stay! We spent a week here for my friend's golden birthday and it was perfection! I initially thought we would be too far out from enjoying the beach but we were pleasantly surprised at just how close we were to Bradenton Beach, Sarasota and Anna Maria Island! We loved exploring AMI and drove out 2 days in a row. After AMI, it was fun driving down to Long Boat Key and looping back to Myakka! This beautiful Barnominium is pure peacefulness and relaxation! We had everything we needed to cook a few meals, (fresh eggs everyday!) enjoy cups of coffee on the porch, wash clothes and even play with the donkeys, chickens and mini horses! We spent a few days hanging out on property, swinging in our hammocks and enjoying the abundant nature around us. Our hosts were awesome and so accommodating! I can’t wait to plan my return trip to this beautiful place!
5 Star Rating! Carsten P., Germany, Mar 2018: Very, Very Good! Very good accommodation. Nice people, fresh eggs and great area. Many thanks to our hosts

5 Star Rating! Gary C., Mar 2018: We enjoyed our stay very much. The owners were very helpful and hospitable. Enjoyed the 2 donkeys and the horse with us being animal lovers. Place was very clean and just as advertised. Would recommend this highly to anyone. Thanks again Maureen and Paul!
5 Star Rating! Dave D., Mar 2018: Great hosts. Country setting but close enough to beaches, State Park, etc. Would definitely stay here again.
5 Star Rating! Bethel L., Feb 2018: We had a wonderful time - it was everything it was said to be. We caught fish in the pond and explored several state parks in the area. The miniature donkeys were very friendly!
5 Star Rating! Dickson D., Mar 2018: The studio was very clean, well equipped and quiet. It fit our needs perfectly for a quiet, warm week away. The hosts were very accommodating in satisfying our needs, friendly and helpful providing local advice but were not intrusive. We would definitely rent again if in the area.
5 Star Rating! Karen W., Jan 2018: Maureen greeted us upon our arrival, super nice and very accommodating. My husband and I stayed for almost 2 weeks and absolutely loved it! Quiet and very comfortable and supplied with everything you need including fresh eggs from the farm. Definitely hope to return again when visiting family in Florida.
5 Star Rating! Ruthanne T., Dec 2017: We enjoyed our stay very much. We had everything we needed for our week’s visit and Maureen was especially helpful and accommodating. We were close to shopping and sightseeing when we wanted and away from the crowds when we wanted. Myakka River State Park is close and has wonderful opportunities to view birds and wildlife. We hope to be able to return again. This is a super home base to explore from!
5 Star Rating! Chantal C., Dec 2017: Fantastic place at an amazing price! The pictures are absolutely how it looks. It's a beautiful studio, on a quiet, peaceful farm. The family was wonderful, very easily reachable, and helpful as if we were family. Plus, the eggs tasted soooo good. This is at the top of my list of places to stay the next time we are in the area. The location was also great, with lots of places within a reasonable drive. Finally, Maureen was wonderful about recommending places, super friendly, asking about how our stay was, the tournament our kids were in. I plan on staying there again next year.
5 Star Rating! Gail K., Middleburg Heights, Ohio, Oct 2017: Wonderful place! Clean, quaint and very comfortable. Would never have known we were upstairs of a barn, felt like a beach cottage. Lots of amenities including fresh eggs from the chickens (yum). Close to the Premier Sports Campus at Lakewood Ranch, the Naughty Monk Brewery, Cleveland Kitchen (we are from the CLE so this was a fun find) and Main Street at Lakewood Ranch. Hosts were just the right amount of available. They went above and beyond lending us camp chairs and coolers to use at the fields. Would stay there again when we are in the area.
5 Star Rating! William and Rafaella, Dec. 2017: Our days at Hundred Oaks Farm are coming to an end. Although we are stepping forward into something new and so exciting, we will definitely miss this place. At the end of October we found ourselves in an awkward transitional stage and we totally lucked out to discover what we now affectionately refer to as the “Cutest Darn Donkey Barn”. Over the last month we’ve endured an epic battle for our next chapter of life. It has been an emotional roller coaster and had we not been bunked up out here we may have lost our minds. The peace of country living couldn’t be better than this farm. Each time we arrived back or were leaving for somewhere we were greeted by donkeys (Bruiser and Monster), two calves (Lola and Layla) and the new addition, Asher the pony. Each animal has its own distinct personality. Fresh eggs from the chickens were second-to-none and we will miss having those. Friday nights occasionally picked out country music miles away whilst most mornings laying in bed there was roaring from the lions up the road.
This is a great place put together by a terrific family. They are as nice as can be. The kids are extremely intelligent, knowledgeable and ever so polite. They have really got an amazing thing going out here! As we pack our belongings again, we feel as if we are leaving family behind and hope to visit again in the near future. Our only regret is not sweet-talking Declan into sending us away with one of her fabulous pies! If you’re in the Suncoast area or planning a visit, check to see if they have availability. The rates are great, the place is safe, not all that far from the city, "the countryside is peaceful and the living is easy. “
